Welcome to my blog! Today I will share with you my experience eating a very affordable merienda buffet at Aling Nena's Bibingka located at Cubao Quezon City near Araneta center.
The restaurant has Filipino ambiance and you can hear Flipino folk songs in the background.
It is a perfect place for family bonding or hanging out with friends as you enjoy the traditional Filipino merienda.
I've been dying to go to this place because they offer a variety of Filipino dishes. Specially, the kakanin ( native delicacy) because I love kakanin so much.
The merienda (snack) buffet is Php 105. For that very affordable amount you can already enjoy different merienda like arrozcaldo ( it is a chicken and rice porridge flavored with ginger, garlic, and onion.), tokwa't baboy ( fried tofu and boiled pork belly and pork ears) , okoy ( vegetable fritters), lomi (thick egg noodles), pancit bihon ( thin rice vermicelli).
There are also a lot of kakanin to choose from, like suman sa Ibos, kutsinta, sapin-sapin, cassava, biko, puto and of course their specialty the bibingka ( baked glutinous rice cake with grated coconut, margarine and salted egg on top).
Arrozcaldo is one of my favorite and I paired it with tokwa't baboy. Their tokwa't baboy is really nice because the vinegar sauce used is not so strong, it is just enough to give flavor to the tofu and pork.

Another favorite is the okoy with vinegar dip. This is really something new because the usual okoy has shrimp but this one is vegetable but still tastes the same.

And for the bibingka, it was really good. It has the authentic taste and texture of a Filipino bibingka. It is soft and flavorful.

For Php 105, it's really worth the price and craving satisfied. 👌
